School begins at 7:25a.m.

Our students attend P.E., computer, music, art, and library once each week. Mannsdale students also participate in character education classes and community service projects with our counselor each week.

Your child’s teacher will put all the important information on their Canvas page.  A weekly newsletter will be sent home, but you can also access this on the teacher's Canvas page.  Contact your child’s teacher at any time about concerns or to schedule a meeting.

All students must be dropped off and picked up in the front and back loops of the campus. The entrance to Mannsdale Upper is used for entering the carpool line, and staff will be posted to direct traffic to the front and back loop. Parents may drop off beginning at 7:00a.m. Teachers and staff will be on hand to assist students at both locations. If you have a child at MUES, please use the back loop to drop off your lower student to help the traffic flow. For safety reasons, parents should not park and walk across to drop off or pick up their students. Students are dismissed each day at 2:25 p.m. Car riders are picked up in the front circle. We will use a number system for safety and efficiency. Please make sure you have your child’s number posted in your car window at pickup. If you do not have the number, they will ask that you park and come to the office for your child to be released. We are aware that events take place that result in the need for transportation changes to occur. If you must change your child’s afternoon transportation, please contact the office prior to 1:30 p.m.

Parents are strongly encouraged to use bus transportation as often as possible. The transportation company, Durham School Services, will coordinate bus routes, times, stops, and drivers. The list will be available on the Madison County School District website approximately one week before school begins.

We are the “Mannsdale Mavericks,” and the school colors are black, crimson, and white. Our school feeds into Mannsdale Upper Elementary, Germantown Middle School, and Germantown High School.  

Madison County has adopted this national assessment program to align our students with all students in the nation. It allows us to target specific strengths and weaknesses in our students. If teachers can identify an individual student’s needs, then it is beneficial in planning instruction. Your child’s teacher can conference with you about your child’s results. We will be testing throughout the year to access growth.

Absolutely! The arts…drama, music, dancing, visual art…will be used as a springboard to enhance your child’s educational experience in every classroom.  We are a model school for Mississippi Whole Schools of the arts.  We have many teaching artists that come to our school and visitors from other schools who are watching our model lessons of integrating the arts.  

Join the PTO. There are a wide range of committees. You will also have opportunities to volunteer in your child’s classroom, attend field trips, work at the Bookfair, help with performances, etc. Please do not hesitate to ask!

Lunch is $3.50. Breakfast is served 7:00-7:25 a.m.

You may purchase school supplies yourself or school supplies can be ordered through the PTO (see the website for instructions). School supplies may be brought to your child’s classroom at the scheduled “Meet the Teacher Night.” If supplies were pre-ordered through the PTO, they will be delivered to your child's classroom and you may view those on "Meet the Teacher Night."

We would like to limit changes of transportation during the day for safety reasons. When you have a transportation change, please put a note in your child’s folder. Otherwise, please contact the office at 601-879-0309 before 1:30p.m. Do not email or text transportation changes as they are not being checked throughout the day.

Your child’s safety is very important, which is why Madison County Schools practice safety drills monthly. Should the weather ever become serious enough to warrant cancellation or dismissal of school, that decision would be made by our school superintendent, and an announcement would be published to all news agencies as soon as it becomes available. Please check your local television station or radio as well as this website for the latest information. You may also sign up for the Madison County Schools App to receive texts and updates from Central Office.
