About Us
We hope you find this website an informative tool that will give you a glimpse into the life of a Mannsdale Maverick! We are a state-of-the-art facility in Madison, MS for students in grades K-2.
The 2024-2025 school year will be our 16th year as a campus. The Madison County School District is one of the most desirable in our state and the reputation of Madison County Schools is widely known and respected. In fact, Family Circle magazine named Madison as one of the "10 Best Cities to Live." We excel in academics, athletics, and the arts. We feel a sense of community in all our schools. It's a great day to be Maverick!
Mannsdale Elementary has continued on the path of excellence set in the Madison County School District. We were named a STAR school by the state of Mississippi. Our test scores are some of the highest in the state of Mississippi.
Our building features a large library with a customized reading room. As part of our 1:M initiative, each student is assigned a device to offer enrichment through electronic means. These devices are equipped with Destiny Quest, United Streaming/Discovery Education, Magnolia, Learning 360, and so much more. Hallways and classrooms are brightly colored with modern art sculptures, student created murals, and an alphabet floor mural in our foyer. Festive banners can be seen outside classrooms with inspirational quotes by famous authors and athletes. A multi-purpose cafeteria with a raised stage, a gymnasium, our own rock wall, an outdoor fitness center, music room, measurement garden, music playground, and computer lab are all special features in our building. We have a school nurse and counselors who meet with students each week. Students attend P.E., music, library, computer and art class each week. Students also meet with our counselor for character education classes. Mannsdale P.E. students can participate in the Mississippi Blues Fun Run, the Presidential Fitness Awards.
Our impressive staff has been given a common planning time each day to plan arts-infused lessons among each grade focusing on master artists and authors. We have adopted the "Really Great Reading" program along with writer's workshop. This is an evidence-based literacy instruction that is grounded in the Science of Reading. This program helps to build foundational reading mastery, develop strong vocabulary skills, address comprehension issues, develop handwriting skills, and support English Language Learners. Students also participate in writer's workshop. We are a model for the Mississippi Whole Arts Institute. Our K-2 students learn problem-solving and higher level mathematical skills. Each student is issued a technological tool (Chromebook or iPad) upon registration.

Vision and Mission Statement
Our vision is to provide a solid, healthy, academic foundation for each child in their first Maverick home. We aim to teach the whole child-socially, academically, and emotionally- to lead to highly motivated, lifelong learners.
Mission Statement
Mannsdale’s mission is to work to help each child reach their potential while instilling in them a love of learning to empower them as lifelong learners. We will respect diversity and be intentional about providing a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment for our students. We will challenge our students to become responsible and compassionate citizens, resourceful thinkers, and inspired learners. We focus on an arts integrated curriculum to provide learning opportunities that are experiential in nature and encourage "learning by doing."
